On June 10th C.U.R.E. and about 100 guests were invited by The Texas Rangers and Fox Sports News Community Corner as the featured non-profit organization. It was a fun evening of hot dogs, nachos, peanuts and yes, dare I say, beer and margaritas for the adults. During the broadcast, Rosemarie Odom had a chance to talk about C.U.R.E. and our efforts in June to support the efforts of the annual campaign to "Get Tested!"
On June 22nd, we launched our newly developed Education Program hosting HIV Testing Day at the Springcreek Campus of Collin College. Free testing was provided with dozens of students getting tested. 6 blocks of the AIDS Memorial Quilt were on display at the event. Glenn has lived with HIV/AIDS for 27 years. He has survived many opportunistic infections that threatened to take his life. 5 years ago, Glenn embarked on the daunting task of taking on the North Texas Independent School Districts to allow him to educate their students about his life with HIV/AIDS. He relates to the students what it’s like to face life daily with this disease and presents his past struggles as a means of teaching consequences to actions.

June 26th C.U.R.E. celebrated it's 2nd birthday with a very special event honoring Glenn Kopanski for his dedication and perseverance of educating North Texas youth and adults about the consequences of contracting HIV/AIDS.
